Are you interested in a taste of global outreach work in Malawi?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a trainee Orthopaedic or Plastic Surgeon to join the BSSH LION project in Malawi in August and September of this year, 2023. This vacancy has arisen due to a change in family circumstances for one of our volunteers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic trainee of grade ST3 or above, with some hand surgery experience (a minimum 6 months hands/upper limb). 

You will be part of a team consisting of a UK hand consultant who will supervise you, a Malawian orthopaedic trainee and both BAHT and Malawian hand therapists, helping the local Malawian orthopaedic team to deliver hand surgery care and training to Malawian patients.

Flights, accommodation and most of your meals will be covered, so this really provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a different healthcare setting, within the beautiful country of Malawi.
