Oliver Pearce
Treasurer
He has remained a BOTA committee member for the last three years having served the previous two years as the web representative. He graduated from medical school in 2012 and resides as an ST6 in the Severn deanery, currently working at Southmead Hospital. He is a strong advocate for innovation, technology and creativity in the T&O workplace and will find a tech solution to any everyday work-based or training related issue. Oly has a continued desire to improve training at both local and national levels.
While overseeing the purse strings, additional duties involve design of creative electronic artwork, BOTA branding development and supporting each annual congress with design of the Congress App. He also forms part of BOTAs representation at BOA council meetings and coordinates the award of travelling fellowships/bursaries.
At a personal level, he has an interest in upper limb, adult trauma and innovation in education.
Role Responsibilities
The treasurer is responsible for working with executive committee to ensure enough sponsorship is obtained for congress. Other responsibilities include; Sending out invoices to companies who are advertising on the website of sponsoring congress.; Paying bills and ensuring committee members receive their expenses in a reasonable time frame.; Keeping fastidious records of all income/expenditure.
It is a vital role to keep overall financial awareness of BOTA to ensure sustainability. As a member of executive commitee, they are required to attend all committee meetings, BOA, BOTA congress and occasional other committees to cover for members of the team.
