Career summary
I am a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2012 based at the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales in Cardiff, providing specialist care for children across South Wales and the South Wales Major Trauma Network. My clinical practice encompasses the full breadth of paediatric orthopaedics, with particular interests in paediatric trauma, musculoskeletal infection, hip disorders and service development. Alongside my clinical work, I have experience in healthcare leadership, quality improvement and research, leading regional and national initiatives to improve the delivery of paediatric orthopaedic services and advocate for equitable access to high-quality care for children.
I have played a role in the development of paediatric orthopaedic services within Wales, contributing to strategic planning, workforce development and the implementation of clinical pathways across the region. Nationally, I am a committee member of the British Society for Children's Orthopaedic Surgery (BSCOS) and a college examiner.
Education and mentorship have been central to my professional practice. I am committed to supporting medical students, trainees and colleagues through teaching, supervision and mentoring, helping others develop the confidence, skills and resilience needed for successful careers. I am currently training programme director and have held multiple educational roles.

Why do you want to be a mentor and what can you offer a mentee?
I have benefited from the guidance, support and constructive challenge of mentors throughout my career, and I would like the opportunity to give back by supporting others in their professional development. As a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon, I can offer experience across clinical practice, leadership, service development, research, education and quality improvement, having worked on regional service redesign, national collaborative projects and trainee supervision. I enjoy helping colleagues develop confidence, navigate career decisions, overcome challenges and recognise opportunities for growth. I would hope that I provide a supportive, approachable and non-judgemental environment where mentees feel comfortable discussing both professional and personal challenges. Ultimately, my aim is to help mentees develop the skills, confidence and resilience to achieve their own aspirations and become reflective, compassionate and effective clinicians.
