Consultants and senior trainees who want to develop expertise in bone defect treatment and fracture related infection management particularly of long bones.

Participants will learn the current management of patients with bone defects secondary to either acute bone loss or following debridement of bone due to infection or non-union. Techniques of bone regeneration will be presented with emphasis on the induced membrane technique (Masquelet Technique) and bone transport. In addition, the latest principles governing the diagnosis and treatment of fracture-related infection will be covered. A combination of evidence-based lectures, case discussions, and dissection and debridement procedures on anatomical specimens will be used, to improve knowledge and skills in the key surgical techniques and in related care.
