It is with great enthusiasm and passion that I submit my nomination to be a BOA senior culture and diversity (C&D) champion (West Midlands). If elected, I intend to thrust all my energy and focus to work for improving diversity and inclusion in T&O; an area which needs urgent attention and intervention. I understand the challenges facing the underrepresented groups in T&O and firmly believe that diversity and inclusion within the BOA is vitally important to ensure that BOA remains the voice for all. Through engagement, persuasion and negotiation with the executive leadership of BOA, I intend to bring about positive change in DEI and strengthen the grassroots. I will be an advocate for inclusivity, equity and diversity so that people from all backgrounds feel welcomed in BOA. I understand that though positive change is desirable and essential, it happens gradually. My attributes of perseverance, positive attitude and micromanaging people will help me be a fantastic C&D champion and bring about long lasting and positive change in this area which will ultimately benefit the fraternity and ensure that each one of us is treated with respect, compassion and kindness that we all richly deserve.
