This year’s Annual BOTA Congress will be held virtually on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th July 2021.

As always there will be sections for our junior members and medical students, along with a chamber debate, a research section plus lots more.


The Orthopaedic Trauma Association will also give a range of talks worth tuning in for!

We will also be having AGM, where there are lots of BOTA committee positions you can apply for.

Submit your abstract

Submit your work for poster presentation or "Pitch to a Dragon"

This year we will be delivering research presentations in 2 different formats. 

Firstly if selected,  completed research can be presented in 3 minute pre-recorded presentations, with the top 3 selected presenting live on the Weds 7th July. 

Secondly our new "Pitch to the Dragons" section allows you to pitch your research to 3 leading researchers who have a pot of £1000 each to fund your research.

BOA St3 Bootcamp Course

The BOA Bootcamp programme is a course designed to prepare new orthopaedic trainees with the professional skills needed to excel during their training.  The aim is to understand how human factors influences performance and decision making and to be able to apply it in clinical practice.  The course is informal and taught through scenario based discussions.  It meets the requirements of the new ISCP curriculum and is suitable for ST3/4 trainees.

Held FACE TO FACE at the RCS Endinburgh there are only 40 places available at a subsidised fee of £50 (+£50 deposit)

Open to current ST3's and trainees successfully appointed today. To apply, email with:

Postgraduate Orthopaedics FRCS Viva Course

A staple at the BOTA congress now, the Postgraduate Orthopaedics FRCS Viva course will run as a whole day course. Prioritised for FRCS candidates who are booked ont to sit Part B in November 2021.
