back to Committee
Tom has been the Scottish BOTA representative since 2018. He graduated from the University of Glasgow, and after gaining wider experience overseas, he returned to Scotland to pursue a career in Orthopaedics. He is a strong advocate for trainees and has an overwhelming desire to improve the standards of training throughout the UK.
Through BOTA he represents trainees on the Scottish Academy Trainee Doctors group (SATDG), RCSEd Subspecialty Board, RCSPG Trainee Doctor Group, elogbook redevelopment group, SCOT (Scottish Committee for Orthopaedics and Trauma), and the SCOTNET research collaborative. In addition to these committee roles, he organises the infamous STOTS national training day and dinner, the Silver Sgian Dubh Award and the Bon Oeuf.
Within the sphere of Orthopaedics his interests lie in the fields of revision hip, pelvis and trauma. In his spare time, he can be found on the rugby field, tennis court or halfway up a Munro, often with the family in tow.
