 16 March        Acute Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury Symposium

A symposium on the diagnosis, management and outcomes

For Consultants and trainees in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, intensive care, trauma centres, A&E and spinal injury

 

 8 May             Spine Pain Treatments Course

This course will review the causes of spinal pain and the treatments of spinal pain.  It will also focus on possible complications of these treatments.

Target audience: Consultants in Radiology and Orthopaedics/Spinal Surgery; Physicians in Pain Medicine; Anaesthetists; Anaesthetic, Orthopaedic and Radiology Registrars; Radiographers; Physiotherapists and other allied health professions with an interest in spine related pain

                                               

 9 May             Imaging of Orthopaedic Implants

This course will review the imaging of orthopaedic implants. It will address when, why and how to image and will review specific implant and implantation related problems in the most commonly treated joints / body areas.  Target audience: Consultants in Radiology and Orthopaedics; Orthopaedic and Radiology Registrars; Radiographers; Allied Health Professions with an interest in orthopaedic implant imaging

 

 10 May           Tumour Course

Target audience:  Consultants in Radiology and Orthopaedics; Physicians in Pain Medicine; Anaesthetists; Anaesthethic, Orthopaedic and Radiology Registrars; Radiographers; Physiotherapists and other allied health professions with an interest in this area

 

13 May             Fracture Management Course for FY1/FY2/ CT1/CT2/     Orthopaedic Medical students

This course will focus on the biology and biomechanics of fracture healing leading to a set of principles on which any fracture can be managed. This approach to all fractures avoids the confusion over which need reduced, which fractures need fixation and where there are predicted biological problems in healing

 

5-6 July           Shoulder and Elbow Course

This is a comprehensive course designed for orthopaedic trainees (ST1 – ST4) and therapists/other healthcare professionals who have an interest in shoulder and elbow conditions.  The course will be covering current concepts in shoulder and elbow treatments

 

19-20 October    Anatomy and Surgical Exposures in Orthopaedics Course

All levels of Orthopaedic Trainees.  Demonstrations on cadaveric prosection

 

4 – 6 December  16th Oswestry Foot and Ankle Course

3 day course aims to provide delegates with a core understand of the management of        common foot and ankle problems.  Target audience:  Levels 2-6 Orthopaedic Trainees
