I’m a medical student, can I attend?

We welcome medical students to participate in Congress with specific sessions such as the Orthopaedics for Juniors organised for you.  Medical student volunteers are sought to help organise, direct and welcome delegates and faculty on all three days of congress. If you would like to be considered for these important roles there is an option to let BOTA know on registering with a certificate of participation guaranteed for all who help out. This option will be indicated when you complete your booking form. You are also welcome to attend the Congress pub quiz and dinner.

BOTA Educational Congress has sold out?! Can I still attend?

Due to the immense popularity of the BOTA Congress this year we have had to unfortunately limit the maximum numbers of people attending as set by the venue. We would encourage any medical student or trainee to join the waiting list as it is possible that trainees who have already signed up may not be able to attend.

I’ve been waitlisted, can I still attend Congress?

Once on the wait list, tickets will be released on a first come first serve basis so BOTA encourages any medical student or trainee to sign up to the wait list as soon as possible.

Can I be informed of my position on the waiting list?

No, BOTA will inform delegates on the wait list once tickets are released and they will have 5 days to sign up otherwise it goes to another person lower down the list.

I need to book study leave and I’m on the waiting list, when will I know if I am able to attend Congress?

BOTA will inform delegates if they are successful at getting a ticket at the very latest 6 weeks before the congress.

I’ve been told I’m presenting but I’m on the waiting list, can I still attend Congress?

Exception to the first-come first-serve rule applies to those delegates who are successful in having a poster or podium presentation and will be informed on how to purchase tickets nearer the time.

I’ve signed up and can’t make Congress, can I cancel?

Please email [email protected] as soon as possible so that a refund can be issued and we can release a ticket to someone on the wait list.

I got released a ticket for Congress but I’ve missed the deadline to sign up. What can I do?

Delegates have 5 days to sign up to congress once their ticket has been released. If you do not claim in this time, your position is lost and you will need to sign up again.

How can I claim my refund?

The refund is dependent on delegates attending all three days of Congress. Delegates attending for fewer than the 3 days will not have their conference registration fee refunded.
