Congress Registration is open NOW!
Who can attend?
The conference is open to all grades from medical students to pre-CCT specialty trainees with specific sessions open to various different grades. Training programme directors and Consultants are also welcome to attend.
How much does it cost?
The cost of registration for all delegates is £50.00 which is fully refundable on attendance to the Congress. Delegates can cancel their registration and a refund will be issued until the 3rd October 2017. Refunds will not be issued if cancellations are made after that time or if the delegate doesn’t attend congress. Please note that Eventbrite add on a £3.69 administrative fee which is non-refundable.
What sessions can I attend?
There are multiple streams running on most days catering for different sessions. There are several sessions that are only open to specific trainee grades and have a maximum number of delegates. Allocation to these sessions will be on a first-come first-serve basis. For sessions that are over subscribed, a waiting list will be kept and delegates will be informed closer to the time if they are able to attend a specific session.
Please note, if you apply for a session that is not applicable to your trainee grade e.g. ST4 applying for the Consultant workshop and that session is over subscribed, a trainee of suitable grade will be given preference.
BOTA reserve the right to move delegates to different sessions at any point during the Congress
I want to cancel my registration, who can I contact about a refund?
Please contact [email protected] as soon as possible by the 3rd October 2017.
I’ve submitted an abstract, when will I hear that it’s been accepted?
You will be emailed separately between August and September 2017
Is the gala dinner and pub quiz refunded?
No, delegates will have to pay for these social events separately including any additional guests. If you have signed up to Congress but not the social events on Eventbrite, please visit the Socials tab at the top of the page to book your place at these events.
I’m a medical student, can I attend?
We welcome medical students to participate in Congress with specific sessions such as the Orthopaedics for Juniors organised for you. Medical student volunteers are sought to help organise, direct and welcome delegates and faculty on all three days of congress. If you would like to be considered for these important roles there is an option to let BOTA know on registering with a certificate of participation guaranteed for all who help out. This option will be indicated when you complete your booking form. You are also welcome to attend the Congress pub quiz and dinner.
BOTA Educational Congress has sold out?! Can I still attend?
Due to the immense popularity of the BOTA Congress this year we have had to unfortunately limit the maximum numbers of people attending as set by the venue. We would encourage any medical student or trainee to join the waiting list as it is possible that trainees who have already signed up may not be able to attend.
I’ve been waitlisted, can I still attend Congress?
Once on the wait list, tickets will be released on a first come first serve basis so BOTA encourages any medical student or trainee to sign up to the wait list as soon as possible.
Can I be informed of my position on the waiting list?
No, BOTA will inform delegates on the wait list once tickets are released.
I need to book study leave and I’m on the waiting list, when will I know if I am able to attend Congress?
BOTA will inform delegates if they are successful at getting a ticket at the very latest 6 weeks before the congress start on Tuesday 3rd October 2017
I’ve been told I’m presenting but I’m on the waiting list, can I still attend Congress?
Exception to the first-come first-serve rule applies to those delegates who are successful in having a poster or podium presentation and will be informed on how to purchase tickets nearer the time.
I’ve signed up and can’t make Congress, can I cancel?
Please email [email protected] as soon as possible so that a refund can be issued and we can release a ticket to someone on the wait list.
