How to join BOTA

There are three ways to join BOTA:

Option 1: Full BOA Associate and BOTA membership

Anyone holding an NTN (SpR or ST) in Trauma and Orthopaedics is eligible to join the British Orthopaedic Association as an Associate Member. This includes full membership of BOTA.

Subscription fee starts at £160 per year (discounted trainee rate). This membership fee is tax deductible. Visit the BOA website to join now

 Option 2: As a stand alone full BOTA member

Anyone holding an NTN (SpR or ST) in Trauma and Orthopaedics is also eligible to join BOTA as a full member without joining the BOA.

Benefits:

To join: 

Subscription fee is £40 annually.

Please download and complete the full member application form and standing order mandate, and return both to the BOA address stated on the form. 

 

 Option 3: As a Junior BOTA Member

This new category of membership is available to all other qualified doctors in approved training programmes (ie FY, CT or non-RTT ST). You do not need a training number to be a junior member.

A statement of support is required from the educational supervisor.

Please download and complete the application form and standing order mandate and return both to the BOA address stated on the form. 

A Junior Members Representative (without voting rights) will represent Junior BOTA Members on the BOTA committee, as an invited member.  This post will be elected each year at the BOTA AGM from 2011 by a vote of Junior BOTA members, in the same manner as the other posts on the BOTA committee. Junior BOTA Members will have no other voting rights on Committee or within the AGM/EGM.

 Moving from Junior to Full membership 

Once trainees obtain a National Training Number in Trauma and Orthopaedics, they should inform the BOA Membership Secretary and their membership can be upgraded from Junior to Full BOTA membership.
